Each week we target $31.00 worth of market value vegetables and herbs in a share. The share tends to be the lightest in June, when there is salad greens, head lettuce, turnips and radishes; then it grows in diversity and quantity throughout the year.
In 2016, our members received about $730 worth of produce for the $525 that they paid. Now that is a bountiful harvest!
Our CSA is “buffet style,” meaning the produce selections for the week are displayed in order as they appear on our board behind the stand. We blend choice and a predetermined selections. For example, “Choose a Beet or Carrot bunch,” and “Three onions.” This is done to ensure you get the best selections for what you’d like to cook with that week.
So what does a CSA share look like? It varies by season, and it also depends on what you choose from in our market style display each week. Below are a few examples of weekly CSA shares, June – October.
